I have a background from the Norwegian health system as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist before I completed my MSc in biotechnology (Norwegian: Sivilingeniør) and finally my PhD from the University of Tromsø in RNA biology. My main research interests within the Biosafety field are gene ecology studies of unintended effects rising from the impacts the use modern (bio)technologies have on health and environment. I am very interested in the interplay between expression of traits and the environment. This has to be combined with relevant long-term effects studies to reveal effects on the ecosystem and on animal and human health.
