Dr. Idun Merete Grønsberg is currently working as a scientist at GenØk- Centre for Biosafety, Tromsø, Norway.
She has previously been working as the laboratory manager of GenØk (2003-2004, 2006-2010). She holds a PhD from the University of Tromsø (UIT,1997-2001) where she analysed mRNAs and promoters of the gamma glutamyltransferase gene in colon carcinoma cells during differentiation and apoptosis. She has also been working with analysis of caspase activation in neuroblastoma and osteosaroma cells from childrens cancer during treatment with TRAIL (TNF-related-apoptosis-inducing-ligand) at the Pediatric Department (2001-2003, UIT). Her previous work at GenØk has been centred on uptake (and mechanisms of uptake) of foreign DNA in cells and tissues during feeding experiments and cell culture experiments. Her present work (2010-)is centred on the establishment of distinct detection schemes with real time PCR/PCR.
